POL Reflection
My POL went better than I thought it would go. Practicing at home was very crucial to my success and it allowed me to feel more comfortable with my presentation. I didn't feel the most prepared while i was doing it, due to the nerves. When I first started working on my pol I made a goal to put maximum effort into my pol so that I could feel ready, and pass. I was time oriented unlike how i was on other projects and meet all the deadlines with work that I was proud of.
Even Though I felt prepared beforehand, during my presentation I did not do as well as I did when I practiced. I was also not prepared for the question that the panel was asking, I stuttered and took a long time to think of my answer. Not preparing for those questions made it hard for me to prove that I knew what I was talking about.
The smart that goal that I made was focused around my weakness of perseverance. I struggle with my perseverance because when there is no clear right or wrong answer I get discouraged and give up. I gave up during my mask project by turning in an essay I was not proud of, and I gave up during one of my pows when i couldn't find the solution. So my goal is to improve on my perseverance by having monthly conversations with my advisor about my struggles with perseverance so I can reflect as well as get assistance.
