The college that will work best for me, and that I would want to go to will support my values. It will have a great balance between socials and academics. This is extremely important to me. The school will also have classes that will help me attain my goals whatever they may be. Location is also slightly important because i would like to live in a place that fits my needs so not necessarily a big city because i greatly enjoy nature and hiking.
The best fit school will be in a state with lots of outdoor opportunities, The school will have strong classes based on nature and production because those are my interests and possible career paths. The school is not so big that I feel overwhelmed, it is medium because I don't want to stand out too much in a small school, but I want to meet people to experience college with.
I have learned that finding or creating a job that is centered around your greatest interest, or your greatest accomplishment is often successful. Basing a career off of a struggle you have overcome can be empowering. Like in photography reading about an immigrant woman struggling in the big city and how she found a lot of enjoyment is photographing the city so she chose to teach other immigrants like herself the art of photography. Helping others is also one of the most rewarding jobs. For me I would want a balance of these both including a substantial income. I want my future to be spent doing what I love, helping others, and making money.
A new insight for me is a job based off of helping others, i know it sounds selfish but i have spent most of my time thinking about a job thinking about money and myself, and now i realize that helping others can feel just as good and a balance between the both could be the best feeling and best trajectory for my future. In a story about a sanitation worker who has a challenging job but he finds joy is making others days easier. This was inspiring because it showed me that there is more than one way to be successful.
I am unsure of the exact route my life is going in but i have two passions that would make me very happy to continue as a job. The first is the outdoors, I love the feeling of nature and being one with it. I have always enjoyed hiking, biking and exploring nature. I have also been backpacking a lot and it is one of my most favorite things to do so if there is any way to turn that into a carrare i will be content. Whether it be studying outdoors, or actually being in it I want to be able to help the environment thrive, and help others to be able to experience nature. Second, I have a love for music but i have never been a player of music. I love finding new artists and scouring spotify for new sounds. I think that working for a producing company would be fitting for this passion, or some job where I can find new musicians and share them with the world. These are two very different paths so I am unsure of the college that could possibly support both of my dreams.
The other day while looking through course options for junior and senior year I saw some classes that would help me realize my potential. The first class being Intro to Production, I had no idea this was a class, but i think if this class was on my transcript and i wanted to join a school with a producing class they would be interested to see that i already have prior knowledge. Already I have taken ecology, and ecology electives to set me on a path towards a college focused on nature.
The most interesting part of you-science was how it calculated your strengths and related it to possible careers, I was happy to see that my strengths align with the producer.

This made it clearer to me that I would enjoy and then succeed at this job.
Knowing that my strengths align with this job inspires me even more to continue reaching for that job. Before realizing this from you-science i was convinced it was an unattainable job, because to me it sounds so perfect that it doesn't exist in a reality where i could become it. Knowing that Being a producer could use my strengths to my advantage makes me excited about this path.
